With the Friday holiday, I’m utterly discombobulated. I have no idea what day or month this is, and it’s 2009, right?
Today I had an audition for a short film. VERY short, judging by the script, but well-written. I read several times for two parts; my first reading sounded particularly awkward and I can’t say I […]

We took a weekend trip to visit my family back in New York State, which was surprisingly exhausting (the 5+ hour drive across the most boring stretch of southern Ontario didn’t help), but today I feel like I’m back into the swing of things. I went to the latest Detroit 48 Hour Film Festival meet & greet last night. Seems like a group of creative people that want to create some great little movies. I talked with a few, but after about an hour and a half, I reached my saturation point. I’m a solitary person […]
Kid Dreadful and I hopped on our bikes and went back downtown after lunch. We got to see the “Prayers for Bobby” gay pride parade in motion and even catch a few glimpses of Sigourney Weaver. Nifty. (Earlier posts on this topic are here, here, and here.)
As promised, I snapped a few photos of the parade scene for Sigourney Weaver’s production of “Prayers for Bobby”, which is filming on Washington Street. When I was there, they were setting up and about to begin rehearsals, while the camera crane and track were being assembled. (Update: more photos here.)
Meanwhile, they were […]
Washington Street is closed all day today to enact a gay pride parade for the Sigourney Weaver production of “Prayers for Bobby” (my previous post about the film is here). I’ll head down later and snap some photos; check back! (Update: Yep, the photos are here and here.)
If you’re into filmmaking, there’s also a […]
Sigourney Weaver was in Royal Oak yesterday, filming Prayers for Bobby, a movie she’s producing and starring in for Lifetime TV. We rode our bikes down to take a look. (UPDATE: my photos from the June 17th gay pride parade scene can be found here and here.)
Michigan recently approved a bill granting tax breaks […]
