Dreadful Penny

Ryan Malone spent so much time in the penalty box tonight, they’re going to start delivering his mail there. Pretty little Sid Crosby was so ineffective he could have been sitting this one out (I’m glad we were able to watch this on CBC, as Versus is apparently still hot for Crosby’s bod). And Fleury? Well, at least he didn’t trip when skating onto the ice this time. By the last ten minutes of the game, Pittsburgh was reduced to desperate violence, with clear intent to re-injure Johan Franzen. Slamming into Osgood with a couple minutes left in the game? Punks and goons. I thought they were supposed to be a speedy finesse team, the new NHL?

Props to Chris Osgood, amazing again. Ozzy! Ozzy! Two shutouts in a row! (Time to retire Hasek. Really. He was a whiny two-faced asshole when he played for the Sabres and he’s just a salary suck here at Detroit. Osgood has been the most gracious player ever, but it’s time to give him the undisputed top spot.)

Fun game to watch and there don’t seem to be too many injuries. I hope the Wings can keep up this momentum at the next game in Pittsburgh.
